Activist Groups Urge Obama to Reject Boy Scout Honor

Activist groups, including Scouting for All, urge President Obama not to accept the honorary Presidency of the Boy Scouts of America until they stop discriminating.

Former Boy Scout Thanks Mayor Street of Philadelphia For Rocking the Cradle

As a former scout and medical explorer with a brother who was inducted into the Order of the Arrow and a father who was a professional scouter for decades, I applaud the action taken by the mayor of Philadelphia to encourage non-discrimination against gay youth by the Boy Scouts of America. "Morally straight" does not mean heterosexual. It is debatable whether the never-married founder of the Scouts was homosexual, but whether he was or wasn't, those attracted to members of the opposite sex do not hold a corner on
the market of morality.

If a group wants to discriminate against an entireclass of individuals, if a group does not want to abide by municipal policy, then said group has no standing to accept special favors or leniency in regard to payment on the use of city property. Pay up
or step up.

Thank you, Mayor Street, for taking action in support of scouting for all boys bar none.
