Rally / Protest / Candlelight Vigil At The Boy Scouts of America's National Conference In Atlanta, Georgia, May 30th & 31st

Scouting for All Asks The Boy Scouts of America To STOP Hurting Children by rejecting gay and atheist youth, with its policy of discrimination against gay and atheist youth and adults. The BSA’s policy also teaches "straight" youth that discrimination is ok in some instances. The BSA policy just fuels the flames of violence and hatred towards the gay and atheist communities.

Scouting for All is asking for your support in getting the word out to those who oppose discrimination. We will be holding a protest / rally and candlelight vigil at the BSA's annual national conference. This year the national conference is being held in Atlanta, Georgia, May 30th - June 1st at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 265 Peachtree Street NE. You can help by alerting any contacts you have in Atlanta and or surrounding communities of this event

We are inviting community leaders: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, religious, atheist, BSA members, Eagle Scouts, youth and organizations such as PFLAG, GLSEN, NGLTF, HRC, ACLU, NOW, Atheist, Family Pride... to speak at our press conference on Wednesday the 30th, 1000 - 1100 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 265 Peachtree Street NE. , Atlanta, GA. See Program below. Contact Scott Cozza, Pres. Scouting for All .

We'd like current and prior BSA members who attend our event to wear their uniforms. We want the National Leadership to see that members oppose its bigoted policy. National leaders from BSA National and BSA leaders from throughout the country will be in attendance at this conference. So a large number wearing uniforms will send a strong message to BSA leadership, that there is no room in scouting for bigotry and discrimination against any individual and or community, in this case both the gay and atheist communities are discriminated against by the Boy Scouts of America. Please stand with us on May 30th and 31st.

Scouting for All is asking YOU to step forth and speak out. Join us on May 30and 31. Become a courageous voice against discrimination, bigotry, and homophobia.

The Candlelight Vigil is being held in memory of those GLBT and Questioning youth who committed suicide because they felt like they did not belong, rejected. The Boy Scouts of America through its rejection of gay youth and President Bush who remains as the Honorary President of the BSA only adds to this problem. Both President Bush and organizations like the BSA who discriminate against the gay community should be held accountable for contributing to the high suicide rate of GLBT and Q youth in America.
