Activist Groups Urge Obama to Reject Boy Scout Honor

Activist groups, including Scouting for All, urge President Obama not to accept the honorary Presidency of the Boy Scouts of America until they stop discriminating.

Scouting for All is a 100% Volunteer 501-(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. Every dollar donated goes toward our education and advocacy programs, and is tax deductible.

Tuscon United Way agrees to Stop Funding BSA with Taxpayer Money

Faced with losing $1.7 million in city funding, the United Way of Tuscon and Southern Arizona decided that only organizations observing anti-discrimination laws will be eligible to receive public funding from United Way.

United Way had given the Catalina Council of Boy Scouts $29,000 in 2000, but risked losing all funding from the City of Tuscon if it failed to observe anti-discrimination laws in 2001.

The Tucson City Council approved a policy in September that not only stops city funding of organizations that discriminate, but pulls taxpayer dollars from organizations that financially support such groups.

United Way will still channel private money to any charity the donor
