Activist Groups Urge Obama to Reject Boy Scout Honor

Activist groups, including Scouting for All, urge President Obama not to accept the honorary Presidency of the Boy Scouts of America until they stop discriminating.

Scouting for All is a 100% Volunteer 501-(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. Every dollar donated goes toward our education and advocacy programs, and is tax deductible.

State lawmakers moved yesterday to undermine Tucson's refusal to fund the Boy Scouts over that group's refusal to allow gay Scout leaders.

The city of Tuscon, which prohibits the use of public moneys for groups with discriminatory membership rules, has cancelled donations to the Boy Scouts and plans to end $1.7 million in funding for the United Way. In response, the Arizona State Legislature is considering HB2403, which would prevent local governments and public schools from "withholding public funding or access to public facilities based on the groups' beliefs."
