Businesses in the Twin Cities Area, the Twin Cities Quorum, Minneapolis, MN, Challenges the
BSA to Rescind It's Policy of Discrimination
Resolution on the Boy Scouts of America
Many businesses and organizations are struggling with the issue of supporting the Boy Scouts of America. The Board
of Directors for Twin Cities Quorum, a Chamber of Commerce for the GLBT and GLBT-friendly businesses of the twin
cities area, would like to make the following statement:
Discrimination is a learned trait that can not be tolerated in today's society and especially in the business community.
In an era when businesses are trying to maintain a diverse workforce and sales depend on reaching out to everyone,
discriminatory practices can only lead to failure. An organization responsible for shaping the minds of our future
leaders can not be allowed to teach that discrimination is acceptable. We challenge the Boy Scouts of America
to align themselves with today's standards, and businesses/organizations that support them to consider what message
they are sending to their associates and market place.
