BSA Resolution of February 6, 2002 Had 6 Dissenting Votes
FYI, we were told today that the February 6, 2002 committee resolution by the national council of the Boy Scouts
was expected, given the composition of the committee. However, there were six dissenting votes, which was considered
very surprising, because until now members of the national board had presented a united front on this issue.
The 25 boy scout councils intend to continue to press hard for a new policy at the May national meeting. (They
now refer to themselves the Group for Change.)
