Send Support To United Way of Ventura County
Lets Stop The Funding Of The BSA By United Ways and Businesses That Have Anti-discrimination Policies

Send Letters of Support to:

United Way Ventura County

Camarillo, CA 93010-8483

We ALL Need To Support United Ways and Businesses Who Choose To STOP Funding The Boy Scouts of America Because Of Its' Policy of Discrimination Against Gay and Atheist Youth and Adults

The United Way of Ventura County in Camarillo has taken quite a bit of heat from a group formed to oppose the United Ways courageous decision. United Way of Ventura County decided not to fund the Boy Scouts of America because it violated its agency's anti-discrimination policy. The Boy Scouts of America discriminates against gay and atheist youth and adults.

A group of Ventura County politicians, community leaders and executives has launched a fundraising drive to protest the United Way of Ventura County's decision The group has raised more than $30,000, which its organizers will match dollar for dollar.

Some of the groups supporters include several Ventura County politicians, all Republicans: Rep. Elton Gallegly, Assembly members Tony Strickland and Keith Richman, Sheriff Bob Brooks and Dist. Atty. Greg Totten. Christian broadcasting mogul Edward Atsinger and singer Pat Boone also support the "Tribute to Scouts."

United Way of Ventura County decided in 2001 to broaden its anti-discrimination policy, denying funding to any organization that discriminates based on sexual preference. More Action Is Needed

Scouting for All asks that supporters/volunteers/members to identify United Ways and Businesses that have anti-discrimination policies in your communities who continue to fund the BSA despite the BSA's blatant discriminatory practices against gay and atheist youth and adults. We ask that you take action against these funders by advocating through meeting with funding officials, direct mailings to agency and company officials, boycotting, contacting the news media, and by using the funders own anti-discrimination policies that they violate when they fund the BSA.

Please contact our national office and we will offer assistance.

If you don't have time to do direct advocacy we ask that you at least send Scouting for All a list of BSA funders in your community and nationally with contact information.
