I was just alerted by the founder of "Scouting for All" that you've named the Boy Scouts as the charity
of the third quarter of 2003. Your proclamation stated: Delta is proud to support the Boy Scouts of America, the
nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.
I must object. While an outfit may tout "character development" it builds no character to teach our youth
bigotry. The Boy Scouts do exactly that. Among others, they adamantly refuse to admit those who do not believe
in god. That is not a choice, it's simply the position of one who has looked at the evidence for such a being and
found none. That is the position has been held by many of the smartest and most important people in history.
Ask yourself, would you give such money an endorsement to an outfit that specifically excluded Jews, or Catholics,
or Baptists, or any other religion?
I travel often and while choosing an airline I will avoid Delta. I will also ask organizations that book me for
flights to exclude Delta.
I will be mentioning this in my talks to humanist groups and I will be writing about it. If you would like your
side of the argument presented you may call me, e-mail me, or write me.
Sincerely,
Keith Taylor
