Scouting for All Protests the Boy Scouts of America Redwood Empire Council
Scouting for All holding its 6th Annual National Recognition of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered (GLBT) Youth
and Gay and Atheist Scout Month, every October. Steven and his father Scott will lead a protest at the Boy Scouts
of America Redwood Empire Council, in Santa Rosa, California.
Scott Cozza says, "the Boy Scouts of America's national leadership in Irving, Texas has betrayed the world
scouting movement. The BSA national leadership has turned a once wonderful youth scouting program into a bigoted
and exclusive organization, that sends a harmful message to all youth. They attempt to demean and dehumanize gay
and atheist youth and adults by saying they are immoral, that they are inferior. The BSA should give John Cushman,
President, Roy Williams, Chief Scout Executive and Greg Shield, BSA Spokesperson a merit badge for bigotry. They've
earned it."
Steven Cozza says, "The Boy Scouts of America use to represent the very best in our society, now sadly represents
the very worse, bigotry, homophobia and discrimination. Our federal government and some city and state government
municipalities continue to fund the BSA with grants and free land use. Our government uses tax payer money to support
an organization that discriminations against its own citizens. Something is wrong about that. The BSA is also chartered
by the United States Congress. President Bush is the honorary president of the BSA and he won't denounce that title.
How can we allow our government to get away with this?"
Join Scouting for All as we stand against the discrimination of the Boy Scouts of America.
