I try to always follow the Humanist philosophy to see people as primary and more important than societal institutions. I have lived in Sonoma County since 1957.

1. 1958 to 1960: participated with a group of San Francisco Bay Area citizens in Lobby for Peace, sending Dr. Robert Schutz to Washington, DC to lobby for the reduction and abolition of nuclear weapons.

2. 1960 to 1963: Worked with other Sonoma County citizens to prevent construction of a nuclear power plant at Bodega Head, the project finally abandoned by Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

3. 1960 to 1966: Organic Cooperative of Berkeley- board membership and provided weekly transport of farm products from Sonoma County to Organic Cooperative of Berkeley.

4. 1963 to 1966: Cooperative Consumers of Sonoma County- Helped to organize the cooperative and served on the board of directors.

5. 1971 to 1979: Bay Area Gay Liberation (B.A.G.L.)- Helped to organize events and demonstrations.

6. 1978: Sonoma County Residents Against Proposition 6 (S.C.R.A.P. 6). Worked against the (California State Senator) Briggs Initiative that would have excluded any lesbian or gay man from the teaching profession- Helped organize events and demonstrations.

7. 1988 to 1989: We The People newspaper in Sonoma County- Helped to establish the newspaper, and in production and distribution.

8. 1995 to 2000: Petaluma Progressives- Helped to plan and produce community educational events, demonstrations and political campaign work.

9. 1998 to 2000: Scouting For All- Helped with petition gathering and worked to end the exclusion by the Boy Scouts of America of gay, atheist, and female participation in Scouting.
