Equality California Action Alert
URGE SENATORS FEINSTEIN AND BOXER TO JOIN THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE AND STRONGLY OPPOSE BUSH'S ANTI-FAMILY CONSTITUTIONAL
AMENDMENT
July 8, 2004
Dear Supporter ,
Just two weeks ago, with the active participation of Equality California (EQCA), the California Assembly became
the first state-wide legislative body to pass a resolution and go on record against the discriminatory Federal
Marriage Amendment. EQCA is working on all fronts to ensure that LGBT Californians are treated equally under the
law.
We seek your help in ensuring that the groundbreaking work we are doing together in California is not threatened
at the national level. The Federal Marriage Amendment is expected to come to a vote in the U.S.
Senate next week. Both Senators Boxer and Feinstein are with us on this issue, but they need our support. We must
let them know that we do NOT want discrimination written into the U.S. Constitution!
Please take action now by visiting out Advocacy Center. Even if you've already spoken out on this issue before,
our Senators need to hear from us often during the next few weeks!
Please, CALL their offices today. Senator Feinstein:
Washington D.C.|(202) 224-3841
San Francisco|(415) 393-0707
Los Angeles|(310) 914-7300
San Diego|(619) 231-9712
Fresno|(559) 485-7430
Senator Boxer:
Washington D.C.|(202) 224-3553
Sacramento|(916) 448-2787
San Francisco|(415) 403-0100
Los Angeles|(213) 894-5000
Fresno|(559) 497-5109
San Diego|(619) 239-3884
Inland Empire|(909) 888-8525
We are making tremendous progress, but we need your support. We need additional members. We need additional
resources. We need you. Support EQCA today. Together, we can make it happen. Thank you.

past year, California has stood out among the states as the opposition to the ultra-conservative tide threatening
the rest of the nation: Passing the most sweeping domestic partner law ever enacted through the legislative
process; marrying thousands of same-sex couples in San Francisco, which has had amazing effects throughout the
world. And the list goes on.
Equality California has been there every step of the way. With your help, we can continue to be the example
to the country and the world. Join Equality California Be a part of it.
