Dear Mr. Rohr, Chairman and CEO,
I am writing to you representing Scouting for All. We are a 501c3 nonprofit founded by an Eagle Scout and our membership
is largely Boy Scouts of America current and past members as well as the general public who oppose discrimination.
It has been brought to our attention that PNC Financial Services Group has given a grant of $200,000 to the Boy
Scouts of America's Greater Pittsburgh Council.
Mr. Rohr, as a member of the Boy Scouts of America Greater Pittsburgh Council executive committee, you must be
aware the BSA discriminates against gay and atheist youth and adults. Given that PNC has a domestic partners benefit,
how could you allow PNC to contribute $200,000 to an organization that discriminates against some of your own PNC
employees? We are asking that PNC withdraw its $200,000. grant from the Boy Scouts of America. We ask instead
that PNC donate this money to youth groups in the Pittsburgh community that don't discriminate against gay and
atheist youth and their parents. We ask that PNC donate the $200,000. to one or all of the following youth groups
in Pittsburgh who serve all of the Pittsburgh community, unlike the BSA: Boys and Girls Club, 4-H, Camp Fire USA,
Girls Scouts USA, and your local school districts. Inner city children don't
benefit from businesses that donate funds to youth groups that are exclusionary and that don't embrace all of those
youth in the Pittsburgh community.
I look forward to hearing from you. You can reach me at the Scouting for All national office, 707-778-0564.
Sincerely,
Scott Cozza, President
Scouting for All
