Urgent Notice of Important Rally in San Francisco, East Bay Atheists
Important Rally on Supreme Court Ten Commandments decision coming soon
Bay Area Atheist Groups will organize a rally in San Francisco on the day after the Supreme Court issues their
historic decision on displaying the Ten Commandments on government property. This decision is expected as soon
as two weeks in the future. The outcome is vital for us. If the display is permitted, we can expect to see more
and more Christian exhibitions when we visit government property. An unfavorable decision would also embolden the
Religious Right in their crusade towards overall theocracy in this country.
We will provide signs for participants; there will be no speakers.
The rally will be at the Ninth Circuit Court building (7th & Mission) in San Francisco on a weekday at 10:00
AM. We will have little notice of the rally, and ask that all those who might be able to attend, please contact
Dave Kong as soon as possible so they can be notified. Everyone should include a phone number, along with an email
address if possible, as we may only have a few hours the night before to notify people. We understand that not
everyone who signs up will be able to make the event because of the short notice, but if there is a chance you
can help, please get on the list.
This rally will be similar to the one we had last year when the Pledge decision came down.
