As part of our Scouting for All Annual Recognition of Gay and Atheist Scouts and all LGBT and Q Youth Month - October
2005 Scouting for All National has organized two events. We ask that you support these events by
attending them and or by making a contribution to Scouting for All to help us with our efforts in reaching out
to LGBT youth in our attempt to get the Boy Scouts of America to rescind its harmful policy of discrimination
against gay and atheist youth and adults. The events are listed below and are being held in northern California.
We are also asking Scouting for All supporters both nationally and internationally to sign up as event organizers
in your own communities.
You can do this by going to our web site www.scoutingforall.org and clicking on our 2005 Annual National Rally
menu http://www.scoutingforall.org/annualrally.html. You can help as an Event Organizer by doing one of several
options:
- Organizing a rally at your local scout council or in front of a business or charity that funds the Boy Scouts
of America.
- Organize a fund-raiser for your local Lesbian, Gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBT & Q) youth
group.
- You can just make a financial contribution to your local LGBT & Q youth group in your community such as
a Gay Straight Alliance Club or your local LGBT Center's youth group.
You don't have to organize a rally or fund-raiser to sign-up online.
Sign-up on line as a financial contributing Event Supporter.
The following are the two events Scouting for All National has organized and we invite those locally to attend:
Step Forth And Speak Out Against The Boy Scouts of America's Discriminatory Policy
Where: Redwood Empire Scout Council, 2240 Professional Dr., Santa Rosa, California When: Wednesday, October 12,
2005 Time: 1200 noon until 6 PM
* Bring Signs for the public to see voicing the issue at hand. We will also have signs to hand out. Your attendance
is greatly appreciated and will give both gay and atheist scouts and all gay youth a positive
affirming message.
