I am asking you to volunteer to help protect our rights and support the opportunities of same-sex couples in Colorado. Colorado is poised to
become the first state in the nation, by a vote of the people, to grant same-sex domestic partners the benefits, responsibilities, and protections
that straight couples already have. At the same time, we are confident voters will make Colorado one of the first, if not the first state to defeat a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. In 2004, the GLBT community suffered staggering losses as 13 states passed constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage. We're not going to let that happen again. This year we're well- organized, committed, and starting early. Coloradans for Fairness and Equality is the organization formed to pass the Domestic Partnerships and defeat the discriminatory constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. HRC fully supports and endorses CFE's efforts. We have already committed $100,000 to the campaign, and now we are asking for you to support them as well. CFE needs to identify over half a million supporters before August 31. To accomplish this incredible feat, CFE needs an army of volunteers for the cause of equality and human rights. By volunteering just a few hours a week on the phones, doing data entry, or by participating on one of the many other volunteer teams, you'll make this goal a reality.

History is in the making in Colorado.
