General Policies and Procedures

General Policy

Scouting For All supports the World Scouting Movement. Scouting For All believes the best traditions and history of the World Scouting Movement are inclusive and accordingly, Scouting and other youth organizations should be open to all youth and adults without regard to sexual orientation, gender, and religion, including atheism, agnosticism and unorganized religions.

Non-Discrimination Laws

Scouting For All believes that Federal, state, and local laws should require non-discrimination on the part of public facilities, including Scouting and youth organizations, based on sexual orientation, gender, and religion.

Policies for Use of Public Facilities

Scouting For All believes all public facilities, including meeting places, parks, campgrounds, and so on should be available only to organizations that do not discriminate based on sexual orientation, gender, and religion. In particular, government bodies and public entities such as United Ways should not execute contracts with organizations that do not have public and open policies of non-discrimination.

Right and Responsibility of Local Units and Councils

Scouting For All believes units and councils are responsible for their own policies with respect to non-discrimination. We support the right of units and councils to have their own non-discrimination policies that may appear to contradict the policies of their national corporations. Scouting For All believes that any unit or council that obtains resources from any governmental or public entity should be held accountable for its own published policies and practices with regard to discrimination.

Access to Public Facilities

Scouting For All desires complete access to public facilities by Scouting organizations. In cases where conflicts arise, it will be Scouting For All's position to work for acceptance of non-discrimination policies by governmental and public entities, and public and open agreement to these policies by Scouting units and councils.
