Activist Groups Urge Obama to Reject Boy Scout Honor

Activist groups, including Scouting for All, urge President Obama not to accept the honorary Presidency of the Boy Scouts of America until they stop discriminating.

Scouting for All is a 100% Volunteer 501-(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. Every dollar donated goes toward our education and advocacy programs, and is tax deductible.

Scott Pusillo My name is Scott Pusillo, I'm 20 years old, I am an Eagle Scout, and up until April 28th of this year, I was an Assistant Scoutmaster. That is when my council (the same as James Dale's council) decided to expel me because I am gay. Nevermind the fact I have been in scouting for 15 years, nevermind that I was in the Order of the Arrow, nevermind that for 2 years before, my leadership of youth was never questioned. NOW, I am unfit to be a Scoutmaster.

When I was first coming to terms with my sexuality, the Dale case was in the spotlight, and being told I was *immoral* by an organization I devoted my life to. I attempted suicide twice. The second time, I decided that by taking the cowardly way out was helping the BSA's cause... I needed to do something to change the BSA, and help other gay youth in the process. That was when I found Scouting For All.

I've been with Scouting For All for over 2 years now, representing Scouting For All up and down the East coast, from as far south as Miami, to as far north as Boston. And now as the Northeast Region Director, I take on a new phase of my career in this organization, one of leadership and adding new direction to the organization.

Anyone who has anything that they'd like to accomplish in this region (the Northeast) should contact me. I'm very willing to work with everyone I represent, to further our collective goals of an inclusive scouting. I also
turn to you in asking your support, and to pledge to help our organization when we need it most. Now is a critical time in our organizations life... I'm proud to be helping to lead it.
